Introduction:
Pakistan introduced baseball in 1992, participated in the Guangzhou Asian Games in 2010, and advanced to the Asian Championships in 2012. (PFB) is the governing body for baseball in Pakistan.[3] The league was established in 1992 by Syed Khawar Shah to promote baseball in the country. [4] PFB hosted the Asian Baseball Cup several times.
In 2015, the Pakistan National Baseball Team participated in the Asian Baseball Championship in Taiwan as the West Asian Championship. [1] In 2016, it debuted at the World Baseball Classic qualifying in New York,[5] after finishing fifth in the 2015 Asian Baseball Championship.[6]
In 2016, the Pakistani women's national baseball team debuted as a world champion in South Korea, and as of 2017, it is ranked sixth in Asia's top 15. [7]
In 2017 the PFB launched a development program for Fata. The Pakistan Youth Baseball Academy selected 20 young baseball players for training. [8]
