Leave Arema and Join PSIS, Carlos Fortes: I'm Sad, Thank You Aremania!

The surprising decision was taken by the Portuguese striker, Carlos Fortes. The 27-year-old striker today decided to part ways with Arema FC and join PSIS Semarang. Even though this season he has been outstanding and scored 20 goals for the team nicknamed Singo Edan. Carlos Fortes has also just been chosen as the best goalscorer this season, namely the goal with an acrobatic kick that was scored against Persija Jakarta.

The farewell to Arema FC was conveyed by Fortes in his Instagram account post. “What an amazing season. Excellent support. Aremania thank you all. Unfortunately our story has to end now," he wrote, Friday (1/4/2022).

Fortes' contract at Arema FC expires on March 31, 2022. Management has not taken steps to extend the contract because it must first evaluate. "I'm sad to say goodbye to this club. Mainly because I didn't enjoy Aremania in a full stadium. But I hope that in the future I can return to Malang, to Arema and score goals for the club and celebrate with the fans," he concluded.

PSIS Semarang Commissioner, Junianto stated that his party did not play around in making the decision to recruit Marukawa and Fortes. He hopes the two players can make PSIS perform better next season.
